The symposium is being jointly organized by NAL and ADA NAL: The National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) was established in 1959 under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year during 2008-09. Over the last 5 decades, the laboratory has successfully contributed to the growth of aerospace activities in the country particularly to the projects of importance in the defence and space sectors. This has been done through building up of expertise and establishing various facilities as needed. In the last decade, the laboratory has also taken up the mandate for the design and development of different class of civil aircraft for the national needs. As a result of its successful efforts and significant contributions, NAL came to be recognized internationally as a major center for aerospace research and development activities. ADA:Aeronautical Development Agency, Bangalore, an autonomous body under Ministry of Defence, is the nodal agency for the design and development of TEJAS, India's light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and is working on futuristic combat aircraft for the defence forces. |
